Vermentino may just be the best wine you’re not drinking – until now. This varietal is a real discovery, and discovering great new wines is what Direct Cellars is all about. Although it’s native to the Italian island of Sardinia, we’ve brought you this sample from southeast France, where it’s recently become a new favorite.
Bright, juicy, and acidic, the light body and zippy fruit flavors are perfect for everyday sipping in any type of weather. The pale yellow color promises light body on the palate, and you’ll sense aromas of white flowers, citrus, and lemon. The flavors and acid levels are extremely well balanced, offering lemon, grapefruit, cantaloupe, and even a hint of almond on the finish.
FRESH PAN-FRIED GROUPER
Take a few grouper fillets, bread them with panko and grated Parmesan cheese, and serve them pan fried with a vegetable terrine.
